When Saint Dominic was preaching this devotion at Carcassonne, a certain heretic ridiculed his miracles and the fifteen mysteries of the Holy Rosary, thus hindering the conversion of other heretics. To punish this impious man, God allowed fifteen thousand demons to enter his body. His parents brought him to the Blessed Father to be freed from evil spirits. He began to pray and urged the whole group to recite the Rosary with him in a loud voice, and behold, with each Hail Mary, the Blessed Virgin caused a hundred demons to be expelled from the heretic’s body in the form of burning coals. After his liberation, he renounced his errors, converted, and joined the Brotherhood of the Rosary, along with many of his disciples who were moved by this chastisement and the power of the Rosary.
