Since faith alone is the key that introduces us to all the mysteries of Jesus and Mary contained in the Holy Rosary, we must begin by reciting the Creed with great attention and devotion, and the more vivid and robust our faith is, the more meritorious the Rosary will be. This faith must be living and animated by charity; that is, to recite the Holy Rosary well, we must be in the grace of God or seek it; faith must be firm and constant, that is, we must not only seek its meaning and spiritual consolation in the use of the Holy Rosary; that is, we must not abandon it because there is a multitude of involuntary distractions in the mind, a strange weariness in the soul, immense weariness, and an almost continuous drowsiness in the body. There is no need for taste or consolation, sighs, impulses, tears, or a continuous application of the imagination to recite the Rosary well. Pure faith and good intention are sufficient.
