Although this new hymn is addressed directly to the Mother of God and contains her praises, it is nevertheless most glorious to the Holy Trinity, because all the honor that we attribute to the Blessed Virgin returns to God as the cause of all her perfections and virtues. God the Father is glorified because we honor his most perfect creature. The Son is glorified because we praise his most pure Mother. The Holy Spirit is glorified because we admire the graces with which he has filled his Spouse. Just as the Blessed Virgin, through her beautiful hymn Magnificat, gives to God the praises and blessings that Saint Elizabeth bestowed on her because of her eminent dignity as the Mother of the Lord, so she also readily returns to God the praises and blessings that we give her through the angelic greeting.
